NURPN Terms of Service

1. Introduction & Acceptance

Welcome to NurPN, a VPN service provided by NurPN LLC (Virginia, USA). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the NurPN mobile/desktop applications, websites, and services (collectively, the “Service”). By downloading, installing, purchasing a subscription, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. Use of the Service is void where prohibited by law. The Service is offered globally except in certain restricted regions (including the People’s Republic of China). 

2. Eligibility

Account Holder (18+). You must be 18 years of age or older to purchase or manage a subscription and administer settings.

Family Plan Linking. If you purchase a Family Plan, you may generate a secure token (pairing code) to link up to four dependent devices. Dependent devices do not register separate accounts and do not provide personal information; they only exchange minimal technical details (such as device type, operating system version etc.) solely to validate the Family Plan token.

Children’s Access. Children cannot create standalone accounts. A parent or legal guardian must enable a child’s VPN connection by linking the child’s device through the Family Plan token. NurPN does not log or monitor a child’s browsing activity. 

Age of Digital Consent. Where local law sets a higher minimum age for consent to online services, that higher age applies.

Responsibility. Account Holders are responsible for all use of the Service on devices linked through their Family Plan.

Geographic Restrictions. You may not use or access the Service where VPN services are illegal or require a license we do not hold (including China) or if you are on a U.S. restricted-party list.

3. Description of Services

NurPN Service. NurPN provides a virtual private network (VPN) combined with family‑oriented content filtering. When enabled, the VPN encrypts your internet traffic and masks your IP address to help protect your privacy and anonymity online. The filtering features are designed to reduce exposure to harmful or inappropriate material and to support a safer family browsing experience. Parents and guardians control if and how filtering is used.  

Filtering categories.  Categories are tools to align online use with age‑appropriateness and household rules. Categories may vary by region and may be updated over time. Illustrative categories include, without limitation:

  • Pornography & nudity
  • Violence & gore
  • Gambling & betting sites
  • Drugs
  • Predatory and unsafe websites 
  • Malicious websites, malware, and phishing sites

Filtering operates in real time to block unsafe connections. It does not decrypt end-to-end encrypted content, does not perform deep packet inspection, and does not log or store the websites you visit, DNS queries, or the content of your communications. As stated in Section 8, no filter is 100% effective.

Privacy-First Design. NurPN is built as a no-logs VPN. We do not record your browsing activity, DNS queries, or traffic content. To maintain service quality, we may process only limited, non-personal technical information such as device type, operating system version, connection success/failure, basic performance metrics, and anonymous aggregated statistics (for example, total number of daily connections or server load). This information is used solely to operate and improve the service and cannot be traced back to individual users.

Service Availability. NurPN is available via mobile applications on supported platforms (currently iOS via the Apple App Store). Availability, features, and categories may vary by device, operating system, or jurisdiction. The Service is not offered where VPN or content filtering is restricted, including the People’s Republic of China. We may modify or discontinue features when necessary; any material reduction for paid users will be handled per applicable law and Section 13.

Lawful use. Use NurPN only for legitimate purposes, You may not use the Service to violate applicable laws, infringe intellectual property rights, or engage in malicious, fraudulent, or abusive activities.  

4. Application Interface

Access and Family Plan Linking. NurPN does not require account registration or password-based logins. Subscriptions can be purchased and activated directly in the app without providing personal information.

Family Plan Linking. If you purchase a Family Plan, you may generate a secure token (pairing code) to link up to four dependent devices. Dependent devices do not require registration and do not provide personal information. They exchange only minimal technical details (such as device type, operating system version or nickname for added device) solely to validate the Family Plan token.

Parental Responsibility. Parents or guardians must generate the Family Plan token and provide it to dependent devices. Children cannot create standalone accounts. 

Security. You are responsible for securing your device and any code/token used to access the Service. We may suspend or terminate access if we detect fraud, abuse, or Terms violations.

5. Subscriptions, Payments, and Renewals

NurPN is offered on a subscription basis.

Subscription Platforms. All purchases are handled exclusively through the Apple App Store. NurPN does not offer direct billing. You will purchase and manage your subscription using your Apple ID; Apple charges your saved payment method, not NurPN.

Fees & Auto-Renewal. Pricing and features are disclosed in-app or in the store listing at purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period (store rules apply). You are responsible for managing renewal settings.

Managing & Canceling. You may cancel your subscription at any time via your Apple ID account settings. If you cancel, you typically retain access through the paid-through date, and the subscription will not renew thereafter.

Restore Purchases. If you previously purchased a subscription, you may restore it at any time using the “Restore Purchases” option within the app. This ensures continued access to your entitled features without repurchasing.

Third-Party Subscription Management. We use a third-party service provider, RevenueCat, to securely validate Apple purchase receipts and manage subscription entitlements. RevenueCat processes only limited transaction metadata (such as receipt identifiers, product plan, and renewal status) to verify and synchronize your subscription. 

No Refunds by NurPN. Refunds are governed by Apple’s policies. NurPN does not process refunds directly. Contact us and we will assist within platform constraints, but billing issues may need to be resolved with Apple.

Changes. We may change plans/prices; any change takes effect in your next billing cycle after notice and, if required, consent. We will not retroactively change charges for a period already paid.

Entitlement Data from Apple. We receive subscription status (such as plan type, renewal state, and expiration date) and transaction identifiers from Apple to verify entitlements, provide support, and prevent fraud or abuse. We do not receive your full payment method. Limited subscription entitlement data (for example, transaction identifiers and renewal status) may be retained only as necessary for fraud prevention, support, tax obligations, and other legal compliance, consistent with our Privacy Policy. 

6. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to:

  • Engage in illegal or harmful activities. No fraud, hacking, malware, DDoS, CSAM, IP infringement, stalking, harassment, or other unlawful conduct.
  • Gain unauthorized access or abuse networks. No probing, scanning, breaking authentication, intercepting data not intended for you, or overloading services.
  • Resell or misuse the Service. Personal/family use only; no commercial VPN operations; no excessive, abusive bandwidth use that harms others’ experience.
  • Violate others’ rights. No defamation, impersonation, invasion of privacy, or unauthorized collection of others’ information.
  • Violate laws or platform policies. Comply with export/sanctions laws and App Store terms; do not use or export where prohibited.

7. Service Limitations and Disclaimers

Content Filtering. We continuously improve coverage, but no filter is 100% effective; some harmful content may not be blocked, and some legitimate content may be blocked. Filtering operates in real time and does not log browsing activity, DNS queries, or traffic content. Parents should treat NurPN as a supportive tool, not an infallible solution, and continue supervising children’s online use.

Performance & Availability. VPNs can impact speed or latency, and service may be unavailable during maintenance or due to factors outside our control. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.

Geography & Legality. Service may be unavailable or limited where VPN or filtering services are illegal or restricted (e.g., China). You are responsible for compliance with local laws.

Technical Requirements. The Service requires a compatible device and operating system, as well as permissions (including VPN configuration). It may not function on jailbroken or rooted devices or when used alongside certain other software (e.g., other VPNs, firewalls, parental-control apps). On iOS, the Service relies on Apple’s Network Extension frameworks.

Not a Substitute for Parenting or Other Protections. Continue practicing safe online behavior; NurPN cannot prevent all risks (e.g., phishing, malware already on a device, or attacks on a compromised device).

Third-Party Content/Services. We do not control third-party sites or services; any access is at your discretion and risk.

8. Intellectual Property

We (or our licensors) own all rights in the Service, including software, code, databases, interfaces, graphics, logos, trademarks, and content. We grant you a limited, non‑exclusive, non‑transferable, revocable license to install/use the app on devices you own/control for personal, family, non‑commercial use, subject to these Terms. You may not reverse engineer, vulnerability research, DDoS, copy, modify, distribute, sublicense, lease, lend, or separate components of the Service, or remove proprietary notices. “NurPN” and related marks are our trademarks. Feedback you provide may be used by us without restriction or compensation.  

9. Termination

By you. You may cancel your subscription at any time via your Apple ID account settings. If you cancel, access continues until the end of the current paid period (unless ended sooner under these Terms). Uninstalling the app without canceling may not stop renewal charges.

By us. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service for violations of these Terms, to comply with legal obligations, or if we discontinue the Service (with reasonable notice where feasible).

Effect. On termination, your right to access the Service ceases immediately. Because we do not maintain user accounts or store browsing activity, we have no personal data to return post-termination. Limited subscription transaction records may be retained as required by law (e.g., for tax or fraud-prevention purposes), consistent with our Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE.” We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non‑infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will meet requirements, be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error‑free, or that defects will be corrected. Use is at your sole risk.  

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NurPN LLC and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, partners, and licensors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or other intangibles, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service. In any event, our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to NurPN for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or USD $50, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions/limits; where prohibited, these will apply to the maximum extent permitted.  

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be noticed in the website and by updating the “Last Updated” date. Unless stated otherwise, changes take effect when posted. Continued use constitutes acceptance. If you disagree, stop using the Service and cancel before changes take effect.  

13. Governing Law

These Terms and any dispute or claim (including non‑contractual disputes) are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, USA, without regard to conflict‑of‑law rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts in Virginia (e.g., Fairfax County or the Eastern District of Virginia) and consent to personal jurisdiction. The U.N. Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.  

14. Platform‑Specific Terms (Apple)

Platform-Specific Terms (Apple)
 If you obtained the app via the Apple App Store:
(a) your license is also governed by Apple’s Standard Licensed Application EULA;
(b) Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you; and
(c) Apple is not responsible for providing any maintenance, support, warranty, or claims services for the app.

In-app privacy disclosures. Before purchase, NurPN provides a clear in-app disclosure describing the limited data we collect (such as subscription entitlement and minimal technical data), how it is used, and confirming that we do not log browsing activity, DNS queries, or the contents of your communications. These disclosures are consistent with our Privacy Policy (https://nurpn.com/privacy-policy/).

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless NurPN LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your misuse of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any law or third‑party rights.

16. General Terms

Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent; we may assign in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.

Force Majeure. We are not liable for delays or failures due to events beyond our reasonable control.

Export & sanctions. You agree to comply with U.S. export controls and sanctions; you will not use or export the Service where prohibited and are not a prohibited party.

Entire agreement. These Terms, plus the Privacy Policy and any in‑app notices, are the entire agreement between you and NurPN regarding the Service. Headings are for convenience only.
